Wongdoody Designathon
Project Timeline: Wongdoody India
My Role: UX Researcher, Design Strategist, UI Designer
Typology: Competition work
Deliverables: Pitch Video
Domains: User Experience (UX) Research, Accessibility, UI/UX Design
As a part of the official design competition held by Wongdoody India, we were tasked to choose any of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, narrow down a problem space, and design for it.
Our team decided to work on Goal 4: Quality Education- Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Problem Space: To create a platform that can aid teenagers with learning disabilities like dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc. in learning, and help them be at par with their peers at school. This platform functions as a comprehensive pool of resources that can help students succeed in academic learning.

What are learning disabilities?
Learning disabilities are disorders that affect the ability to:
Understand or use spoken or written language
Do mathematical calculations
Coordinate movements
Direct attention
Learning disabilities occur in very young children, yet they are usually not noticed until the child reaches school age. Learning disabilities can be lifelong conditions. In some people, several overlapping learning disabilities may occur. Other people may have a single, isolated learning problem that has little impact on their lives.
The most common treatment for learning disabilities is special education.
Problem Statement and Demographics
To design a comprehensive solution for students with learning disabilities that helps students learn better and promotes inclusive education in India.

Research
LANGUAGES OFFERED:
English, and Vernacular Languages for Central and State Board curriculum.
Our secondary research involved a deep understanding about people with learning disabilities. We found some solid insights that translated into potential opportunities.
Primary Research Methodology
Before validating our scope through primary research, we devised “How might we?” ‘s that allow us to reframe our insights into opportunity areas and innovate on problems found during secondary research.
What made us stand out?
Strong and solid primary research.
Our primary research is strongly based on one-on-one interviews with people who have or have had learning disabilities or work with students with learning disabilities. We wanted to make our design as genuinely relatable as possible.
